Miranda Castro

Beyond Ignatia and Natrum muriaticum! Understanding the Importance of the Many Relationships between Remedies

In this one-day seminar, Miranda will explore how to use the relationships between remedies as an additional guide in everyday practice, especially when faced with acutes or the challenge of the second prescription. Miranda will share her usual enthusiasm, tons of practical information and carefully selected cases from her own practice to illustrate how relationships can inform case management and enhance the accuracy of our prescriptions.

“I have a special interest in the relationships between remedies and have found myself referring to these more often in recent years with beautiful results,” she says.

In this seminar, you will learn about the big relationships picture in homeopathy. You will also learn about the different types of relationships between remedies and how to use information about relationships (good and bad) to help with remedy selection.

Miranda Castro is a British homeopath who has been practicing homeopathy since 1982. She is a Fellow of the Society of Homeopaths (UK) and past President of the North American Society of Homeopaths.

She is author the best-selling The Complete Homeopathy Handbook, the much-loved Homeopathy for Pregnancy, Birth and Your Baby’s First Years, and A Homeopathic Guide to Stress.

She has a background in acupuncture and humanistic psychotherapy and a special interest in ethics and patient management issues as well as the health and well-being of the whole homeopath.

Miranda is an engaging speaker with a wide-ranging passion for homeopathy who has been teaching both sides of the Atlantic for 20 years.

She moved to the US in 1994 and currently lives in Gainesville, Florida, where she is practicing, writing, teaching seminars, formulating healing creams and developing an office management program for homeopaths—and planting an edible, sub-tropical garden! Her website is www.mirandacastro.com .

Dr. Asa Hersh

Five-Element Homeopathy

“Doctors prescribe medicines, about which they know little, for disease about which they know less, in people, about which they know nothing.”

Paracelsus, 1530 A.D.

In our complex world, the healer struggles with complex illnesses, with complex causes, in complex people and an equally complex system of medicine.  Yet the whole of mind, body and the material world are based on the simple template of the Five Elements.  Rather than an archaic theory or vague concept, this is an accurate and infallible guide to understanding people (including ourselves), disease and remedies. Dr. Hersh will reveal the genuine "secrets" of these basic building blocks of experience, based on 40 years of research and study. Warning: this information could instantly change your practice and your life forever!

The five traditional elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space, are the underlying forces from which the phenomenal world is derived, and have been the basis of medical and spiritual systems for over 5,000 years. In this introductory talk, we will look at the relationship of the elements to miasms and body typology. This significantly narrows our remedy search. Then we will be guided through the mental aspect of elemental psychology: the Ruler, Lover, Warrior, Creator and Guru. Understanding these capacities, and what happens when they fall into Loss, or twist into Shadow, is the basis for a comprehensive psychological model. Finally, the substances we use to create Homeopathic medicines are themselves striking expressions of these same elemental distortions.  Remedy selection then goes beyond static “symptom matching,” so the real causes of suffering and dysfunction can be corrected. It’s all in the elements!

A founder of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Asa Hersh has been practicing homeopathy for 36 years, and  is the author of three books on homeopathy and herbal medicine.

A long time student of Tibetan Buddhism, he completed the traditional 3-year, 3-month meditation retreat, held in strict seclusion, in 1989. He is currently authoring a number of books based on decades of research and practice in the area of the 5 elements, including “Tibetan Energy Healing” and “Elemental Homeopathy.”
